A team of Medical Eye Doctors (ophthalmologists) work at our practice based here in Waterford. We see both private patients and medical card holders. We are proud to call ourselves a one-tier practice where all patients are treated equally. At Waterford Eye Care you can access specialist medical eye care within your own community without the lengthy waiting times associated with hospital services.
Our Eye Doctors are specially trained to deal with all pathological eye conditions from Dry Eye and Allergies to Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Cataracts. Minor surgical procedures, to relieve conditions such as cysts and blocked tear ducts, are performed on site under local anaesthesia. Payment is made directly by VHI, Laya and Aviva Healthcare companies and medical card holders can avail of these medical and surgical services, for free, under the HSEs Community Ophthalmic Services Medical Treatment Scheme (COSMTS). All our Eye Doctors are entered in the Ophthalmology or Ophthalmic Surgery Specialist Registers of the Irish Medical Council.
